Bengals OC Brian Callahan says Joe Burrow is more vocal this year

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow recently returned to practice after suffering a calf injury and sitting out all of the preseason games, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been an important part of the Bengals in that time.

Offensive coordinator Brian Callahan said Burrow has been more of a leader both on and off the field this season.

“He’s been way more vocal this year in general,” Callahan said, according to CLNS Media’s Mike Petraglia. “From the start of the offseason program through training camp, he’s still involved in all that stuff. He coaches pretty actively now, probably more than he ever has.”

Callahan had a lot of praise for Burrow, who has already taken the league by storm in his first few seasons, leading the Bengals to back-to-back AFC Championships. There didn’t seem to be much room for him to improve, but Callahan seems to think he has.

Callahan also noted that it’s nice to know that Burrow can take control of the game on his own now and knows what to do.
