Bemidji State softball releases 2024 schedule

Dec. 23—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji State softball team released its 2024 schedule that will feature three tournaments to start the season and a trip to Missouri for a trio of doubleheaders before opening Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play toward the end of March.

The Beavers are coming off an impressive 2023 campaign that featured 24 wins overall and 12 in NSIC play. BSU went on to play three games in the NSIC Tournament, including a victory against Minnesota State, which was the first win for the Beavers against the Mavericks since 2001. 24 wins was the most in a season since the 2019 team also won 24 games.

Bemidji State opens the 2024 season at the Kelly Laas Memorial Tournament in St. Cloud. The Beavers will face Sioux Falls (twice), Northern State and Black Hills State on Feb. 3-4. BSU went 1-3 in this tournament last year, defeating St. Cloud State.

A trip to Illinois will take place a few weeks later on Feb. 23-25 at the Lewis Tournament. The Beavers will play Truman State, Purdue Northwest, Upper Iowa, William Jewell and Grand Valley State.

March will begin with the traditional trip to Florida for the Spring Games from March 2-7. Bemidji State went 7-3 last year in Florida, collecting wins against Pittsburgh-Johnstown, California-Pennsylvania, Saint Anselm, Ashland, Kentucky Wesleyan, Mercy and Saint Michael's.

BSU then travels to Missouri to face Central Missouri (March 15), Missouri Western State (March 16) and Northwest Missouri State (March 17) for doubleheaders in each series.

NSIC play begins on March 23 at Southwest Minnesota State. The Beavers will then travel to St. Paul to see Concordia-St. Paul on March 24.

March concludes with the first home series of the season on March 29 against Sioux Falls. April opens with another home set against Minnesota Duluth on April 2. BSU will travel to Mankato to face Minnesota State on April 6 and then Winona State on the road on April 7.

Three straight home series begin with St. Cloud State on April 10. Then, Augustana will visit on April 13, and Wayne State closes the homestand on April 14.

Following the three straight home series, BSU will then play three straight road series beginning at Minnesota Crookston on April 16. Then over the weekend, the Beavers will face U-Mary on April 20 and Minot State on April 21.

BSU will close the regular season at home with two series, first against Northern State on Saturday, April 27 (Senior Day) and then against MSU Moorhead on April 28.
