Beavers outrun second rival in as many nights, beat G-Men 69-49

Jan. 11—BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Beavers are on a rivals roll.

The Bluefield High School boys basketball team picked up a 69-49 win over state line rival Graham in a non-district game at Graham Middle School on Wednesday night.

The Beavers upended Mercer County nemesis Princeton on Tuesday.

RJ Hairston scored 20 points to pace Bluefield. Jase Smith was hot on his heels with 17 points and Kamron Gore scored 14.

Markelle Ray scored 17 points for the G-Men while Blake Graham added 13.

Richlands 30

BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Graham G-Men defeated Richlands 76-30 in a Southwest District tilt at Graham Middle School, on Tuesday.

Channing Disibbio scored 20 points to lead the G-Men. Cambel Fix scored 16 points for Graham, while Markelle Ray added 13 and Daniel Jennings scored 11.

Ben Hale scored 12 to pace the Blue Tornado.

MCA 68, Mount View 29

PRINCETON — Eli Patton lit it up outside, going 8-for-10 from 3-point range on his way to a team-leading 26 points in a victory over the visiting Golden Knights.

MJ Patton scored 21 points while distributing 11 assists. Kyler Capenter had seven points to go with his seven rebounds while Chance Watkins had had six points while pulling down eight boards and sorting out four assists.

Tavious Richardson scored 10 points to lead Mount View.

Mercer Christian Academy plays at Jefferson Christian on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

GARDNER — Princeton came on strong in the fourth quarter, mounting a come from behind victory over county rival PikeView, on Tuesday,

Maddie Stull scored 15 points to pace the Tigers. Kalee Wright chipped in 12 and Asia Collins contributed nine.

Jaelynn Shrewsbury scored 10 points to lead PikeView. Hannah Harden and Tylar Burks each scored eight points.
