Bears sign Jamaal Anderson
The Chicago Bears took a shot and missed when they signed former New Orleans Saints first-round defensive lineman Sedrick Ellis to a one-year, $1 million contract.
He decided not to show up for training camp because he's retiring.
So, the Bears are taking a flier on former Atlanta Falcons first-round defensive end Jamaal Anderson.
Anderson was drafted eighth overall out of Arkansas in the 2007 NFL draft.
He was recently cut by the Cincinnati Bengals and had a quadriceps injury last season.
He played in only two games.
Anderson has just 7 1/2 career sacks.
He's not a lock to make the Bears' roster necessarily, and has a lot to prove.
