Bartlesville Bruins boys, girls fall to Tulsa Union in season opener

During his preseason analysis about his squad of scrappy neophytes, Bartlesville High School head boys basketball coach Clent Stewart singled out one of its virtues as outside shooting.

In a rough season opener at the Bruin Fieldhouse, Tulsa Union High knocked off the rebuilding Bruins, 67-32. After falling behind, 23-0, Bartlesville played much more evenly with a gigantic Union team (including a 7-foot-2 titan).

Next up, the Bruins travel Friday to U.S. Grant.
