Bally Sports to continue broadcasting Cleveland Guardians games — for now
Diamond Sports Group made their required payment to the Cleveland Guardians Saturday, according to a Crain’s Cleveland Business report.
The move will keep games on Bally Sports Great Lakes. It temporarily ends the drama for Guardians fans who watch the team on the regional sports network.
A source with the Guardians said the team’s deal with Bally will go month-to-month under its original agreement, so it’s conceivable the drama will begin anew as July winds down.
Diamond was under orders from a federal bankruptcy court to pay four MLB teams, including the Guardians, or broadcast rights would revert to the league.
The Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers have been paid. The Arizona Diamondbacks' situation will be subject to the outcome of a July 17 hearing.

The Reds also have a payment due July 15. However, their situation is unique as the team owns a piece of Bally Sports Ohio.
Diamond sought to force teams involved to provide their streaming rights at no additional cost. Those teams, including Cleveland declined and the bankruptcy judge sided with MLB June 1.
