Auburn football transfer tracker: Here's who's leaving the Tigers via the portal

AUBURN — The transfer portal opened for undergraduates Monday, and players across the country have wasted no time putting their names in it.

Here's a look at all of Auburn's players who've entered the portal, as well as any players who've committed to the Tigers from elsewhere.

This story will be updated throughout the offseason as news is learned.

Auburn football players who've entered transfer portal (12)

The school name in parenthesis indicates where the former Tiger has transferred.

WR Ja'Varrius Johnson

Ja'Varrius Johnson reportedly entered the portal Dec. 15, according to 247Sports. He caught 19 passes for 347 yards and three touchdowns in 2023.

QB Robby Ashford

After spending two seasons with the Tigers, former four-star recruit Robby Ashford reportedly entered the portal Dec. 15. He previously spent two seasons at Oregon before his time at Auburn.

DB Austin Ausberry

A former four-star recruit in the Class of 2022, defensive back Austin Ausberry announced he was in the portal Dec. 14.

DL Wilky Denaud

True freshman defensive lineman Wilky Denaud entered the transfer portal after one season at Auburn, he said in a statement Dec. 13.

S Marquise Gilbert

Sophomore safety Marquise Gilbert announced Dec. 7 that he was in the transfer portal. He appeared in three games in 2023: at home versus UMass and Samford and on the road at Texas A&M.

TE Tyler Fromm

Senior tight end Tyler Fromm entered the portal Dec. 6, Nathan King of 247Sports reported. Fromm spent five seasons at Auburn, finishing his career on the Plains with 165 receiving yards and a touchdown. He was used primarily as a blocker.

WR Malcolm Johnson Jr.

Malcolm Johnson Jr. is the third Auburn receiver to hit the portal. Johnson, who has one year of eligibility remaining, hauled in six catches for 89 yards in 2023.

WR Jyaire Shorter

Wide receiver Jyaire Shorter put his name in the portal with one more year of eligibility remaining, he announced Monday. Shorter caught one pass for 10 yards during his lone season on the Plains after transferring in from North Texas last offseason.

Jack LB Stephen Sings V

Former Liberty pass rusher Stephen Sings V entered the portal Monday, according to a report from On3. He spent one year with the Tigers after he followed coach Hugh Freeze from the Flames.

WR Omari Kelly

On Dec. 1, sophomore receiver Omari Kelly became the third Tiger to announce his intentions of entering the portal. Kelly, who committed to Auburn as a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022, played 131 snaps in 2023, per Pro Football Focus. He received 77 reps as a freshman in 2022.

DL Stephen Johnson

Freshman defensive lineman Stephen Johnson announced Nov. 28 that he intends to enter the portal: "Thank you Auburn for the opportunity," he wrote on social media. "Much love and appreciation for the experience! Auburn will always have a special place in my heart. I'll be entering the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility! God got a plan for me."

DL Enyce Sledge (Illinois)

Enyce Sledge became the first Tiger to make an announcement regarding the portal, as he made a social media post Nov. 27 explaining that he will be transferring from the Plains with three years of eligibility remaining. Sledge, a former three-star recruit in the Class of 2022, made his first appearance with the Tigers as a freshman versus Western Kentucky last season. He played in two games in 2023 — matchups with UMass on Sept. 2 and Samford on Sept. 16.

WR Robert Lewis (Georgia State)

Former Georgia State receiver Robert Lewis committed to Auburn on Dec. 10. The 5-foot-10 Lewis, a former three-star recruit in the Class of 2020, caught 70 passes for 877 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023. The majority of his 759 offensive snaps came split out wide (611), per Pro Football Focus.
