Auburn fans share their frustration with the broadcast during the UNC Asheville game
Auburn cruised to an 87-62 victory over UNC Ashville Wednesday night, but that’s not what the fans were talking about.
The game was played in Von Braun Center in Huntsville and was broadcast on SEC Network+, but with a twist. The game featured a split-screen broadcast, similar to the “Manning Cast” that ESPN uses for Monday night football. This decision was not popular amongst Auburn fans, who were unable to get a good look at their Tigers as they picked up the dominant win.
They took to social media to share their frustrations with the broadcasts, including the series of interviews that distracted them from the game. Here is a look at some of their reactions.

I might drive to Huntsville now and catch the rest of this in person just to avoid the broadcast.

Thank God that’s over.
Gonna be waking up in a cold sweat, spouting off advertisements for Huntsville, Alabama.

@MarleneNavor Tell @rktcityclassic we don't ever want to go back to this game if this is how they're gonna broadcast it. Nobody wants to watch a game on only 60% of their TV screen. pic.twitter.com/E2814ITlZM

This whole broadcast has been unbelievable. You can’t make it up 😂

We, including the Next Round crew, were too busy hanging on every sentence coming from the mouth of Chip Cherry, President & CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County Alabama. https://t.co/1kqkQUuYwY

Nothing says SEC basketball like an interview with a Chamber of Commerce rep. Electric

Also I happen to be from the exact area that rocket was taken down. Thing has been gone for months lol. Focus on the game, not old news

I wonder what interesting random Huntsville related people were gonna interview next!

I know that NASA put Huntsville on the map, but they didn’t have to use the @JWTelescope camera angle for this @AuburnMBB game….

SIX! SIX IN GAME INTERVIEWS OF RANDOM HUNTSVILLE PEOPLE AHH HA HAAA pic.twitter.com/ogAYSS1agy

Wow that last segment really got me. Who’s moving to Huntsville with me?

my question with these kinds of @SECNetwork broadcasts: Who is this for? What viewer of Auburn vs. UNC-Asheville on ESPN+ wants this? Why would the committed basketball fans tuning in–b/c no one else is–want a broadcast that doesn't care *at all* about the basketball game?
— Jerry Hinnen (@JerryHinnen) December 14, 2023
How much longer until Auburn can have their own video broadcast team and TV rights so we can watch live with our own play by play guys?
I would pay many dollars directly to Auburn for that.
— Sir Barnsalot (@barnsalot) December 14, 2023
Why would I pay to have ESPN+ to watch a bunch of bros talk? Game only, please. @espn @SECNetwork #Auburn
