The Athletic mock draft has Sixers selecting Jake LaRavia at No. 23

It is officially draft day in the NBA and for the Philadelphia 76ers, that means there should be significant movement heading into the night. They own the No. 23 pick, but there is a good chance they move that pick to acquire win-now players.

Nonetheless, they own that pick, so now is the time to take a final look at mock drafts heading into Thursday night.

The Sixers need help off the bench on the wing, which is where numerous mock drafts have gone for the Sixers. They need somebody who can enter the rotation and make an impact off the bench right away on both ends of the floor.

A mock draft put together by The Athletic has the Sixers selecting Jake LaRavia of Wake Forest:

It would be a surprise to see LaRavia fall out of the top 35. He’s shot extremely well in pre-draft workouts and has convinced teams he can be a high-volume shooter who makes them. He tested well athletically at the combine and has the kind of confident mindset that tends to be successful at the next level among role players. This 76ers pick is thought to be available in a trade if the right offer comes along.

If LaRavia is the pick and the Sixers keep it, he averaged 14.6 points and 6.6 rebounds while shooting 55.9% from the floor and 38.4% from deep in his one season at Wake Forest. He spent the first two seasons of his college career at Indiana State. He was named to an All-ACC Team in the 2021-22 season.
