Arkansas women's basketball opens its SEC Tournament run tonight against Auburn.

The No. 10 Razorbacks (18-13) and No. 7 Tigers (19-10, 8-8) both received a first-round bye. The winner of Thursday evening's matchup will face No. 2 LSU in the quarterfinals.

Arkansas won its lone matchup against Auburn during the regular season. Taliah Scott scored 33 points and the Hogs outscored Tigers 33-11 in the third quarter to rally for a 74-72 home victory.

• Auburn will carry a 44-35 lead into the final period. The Razorbacks were 2-for-14 in the third quarter and will need a jolt to keep their season alive.

• Both teams have come out of halftime ice cold. There have been 8 combined points over the first five minutes of the second half, and Auburn leads 38-30.

Second Quarter

• HALF: Auburn 33, Arkansas 27. The Hogs looked gassed toward the end of the second period, but Samara Spencer made a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Auburn earned some separation with a 12-0 run and the Tigers have 17 points off 11 Arkansas turnovers. Spencer has 11 points to lead all scorers.

• Maryam Dauda just picked up her third foul of the game with 8:36 remaining in the first half. That's a huge loss for Arkansas, as Dauda will now head to the bench for a significant amount of time. The Razorbacks lead 18-16.

First Quarter

• Auburn leads Arkansas 14-13 at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers closed the half on an 8-2 run and have 8 points off 5 Arkansas turnovers.

• It's been a good start for Arkansas, who holds an 11-6 lead at the first media timeout. The Razorbacks are pushing the ball and are getting contributions from the front court. True freshman Jenna Lawrence is starting in place of Poffenbarger and already has 4 points.
