Arkansas football lands another tight end from transfer portal

Arkansas football added their 15th transfer of the off-season on Friday when former Louisville tight end Francis Sherman committed. Sherman announced his commitment to the Razorbacks via Twitter with the short caption “This One’s For You.”

Sherman, a 6-3, 234-pound sophomore, announced he would be transferring at the beginning of May after spending three seasons with the Cardinals. Over those three years he appeared in 30 games and recorded just four receptions for 32 yards and a touchdowns as primarily a blocking tight end.

He fits an immediate need in the Razorbacks’ tight end room as they have nothing but pass-catching tight ends on the roster currently. Arkansas re-added experienced pass-catching tight end Var’Keyes Gumms last week from the portal and now they’ll add an experienced blocker to the group.

Sherman is the third player to commit to the Razorbacks from the transfer portal following the end of spring practices.
