The Arizona Republic's Top 10 high school football Week 4 performers; vote in poll

There were incredible performers throughout Arizona during Week 4 of the high school football season. Here are The Arizona Republic's picks for the 10 best, along with honorable mentions. Coaches nominated players. Vote for top overall in our poll below from four selections:

Top 10 Week 4 High School Football Performers

1. Demond Williams Jr., Chandler Basha, QB, Sr.

The Bears don't beat Saguaro without him. He had a hand in all five of Basha's touchdowns in a 35-31 win, his last coming on a laser pass over the middle to running back Noah Roberts for a 42-yard score with 4:17 to play that gave the Bears the lead for good.

2. Daxen Hall, Gilbert Higley, RB, Sr.

He ran for 21 times for 305 yards and four TDs in a come-from-behind 29-24 win over Marana that kept the Knights unbeaten at 3-0.

3. Nathan Bayus, Phoenix Sandra Day O'Connor, RB, Sr.

He ran 20 times for 214 yards and six TDs in a 55-21 win over Glendale Cactus.

4. Kayden Luke, Oro Valley Canyon del Oro, RB/LB, Sr.

He ran 12 times for 241 yards and three TDs and led the team in tackles in a 50-20 win over Tucson Desert View.

5. Evan Tarasenko, Phoenix Northwest Christian, QB, Sr.

In a 48-24 win over Prescott, the transfer from Maui completed 19 of 26 passes for 324 yards and five TDs. His passer rating was 154.5

6. Janzten Ginger, Buckeye Youngker, RB, Sr.

In a 50-15 rout of Odyssey Institute, he ran the ball 17 times for 149 yards and five TDs. He also scored on two 2-point conversions.

7. Gage Baker, Surprise Paradise Honors, QB, Sr.

In a 53-21 win over Dysart, he completed 26 of 32 passes for 516 yards and eight TDs.

8. Andrew Kulhan, Scottsdale Prep, LB, Sr.

In a 37-28 win over Trivium Prep, he had 22 tackles,16 solo, two sacks, four QB hurries and a fumble recovery.

9. Trey Smith, Glendale Apollo, DB, Sr.

In a 34-13 win over Thunderbird, he had three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.

10. Andre Dukes, Coolidge, DL, Sr.

In a 36-14 win over Combs, he had seven solo tackles, four assists, four tackles for losses, two sacks, a forced fumble and a blocked punt.

Week 4 rewind: Big splashes, national statements, breakouts

Honorable mention

Khalil Bender, Tempe McClintock, WR, So.

In a 32-14 win over Phoenix Trevor Browne, he had eight catches for 144 yards and two TDs. It was his third straight game of more than 100 receiving yards and multiple TD catches.

Austin "Scooby" Bradley, Chandler, DB, Jr.

His 41-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter gave Chandler a 14-0 lead against No. 20 nationally ranked Orange Lutheran of California, a play from which Orange Lutheran never recovered, setting the tone for a dominating defensive performance for the Wolves.

Cam Allen, Phoenix Central, QB, Fr.

In a 41-21 win over Mesa Dobson, he completed 18 of 23 passes for 306 yards and two TDs with no interceptions. He has yet to throw an interception in the team's 3-0 start.

Allen Wallace, Dobson, RB, Sr.

He ran for 247 yards and a TD on 28 carries in the Central loss.

Deacon Shea, Scottsdale Notre Dame, LB, Sr.

In a 35-14 win in San Diego against St. Augustine, he had nine tackles and recovered a fumble and returned it 59 yards for a TD.

Jaxon Knutson, McClintock, QB, Jr.

He was 19 of 38 for 268 yards and three TDs and ran 11 times for 70 yards and a score.

Cayden Gibson, Arizona College Prep, DE, Sr.

He had 13 tackles, five for losses, a sack and three QB hurries.

Enoch Watson, American Leadership Queen Creek, QB, Sr.

He was 27 of 33 for 292 yards and four TDs in a win over American Leadership Gilbert North.

Taylor Searle, ALA Queen Creek, WR, Sr.

He caught 11 passes for 137 yards and two TDs.

Rylan Bass, Arizona Lutheran, RB, Sr.

He ran 14 times for 106 yards and two TDs and caught two passes for 133 yards, including a 91-yard score, in a 56-36 win over Camp Verde.

Republic special: Basha High School: Beyond the Gridiron

Dalton Crockett, Benson, QB, Sr.

In a 38-34 win over Shadow Mountain, he completed 13 of 20 passes for 144 yards and three TDs and ran for 94 yards and three scores.

Carlos Molina, Barry Goldwater, RB, Sr.

In a 41-40 win over Apache Junction, he ran 13 times for 148 yards and four TDs.

Dylan Tapley, Desert Mountain, WR/S, Sr.

In a 24-21 win over Chaparral, he had six catches for 87 yards and the game-tying TD in the final quarter.

Edgar Gamez, Salome, Athlete, Sr.

In a 1A win over Maryvale Prep, he had six TDs, three rushing and three receiving.
