Arizona Cardinals' Hollywood Brown headed to Kansas City Chiefs on one-year deal: Report

Kyler Murray is losing a very close friend and teammate to a new team, as Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown has agreed to a free agent contract with the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

NFL Media and ESPN reported the news Thursday night. Brown, an unrestricted free agent, had expressed his desire to return to the Cardinals toward the end of last season, but Brown and Kansas City were able to reach a deal before that could happen.

Brown was one of the best receivers still on the free agent market after the past three days. He's getting a one-year contract worth up to $11 million, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported. He goes from catching passes from Murray the past two seasons to becoming a target for arguably the best quarterback in the league in Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes.

Brown became the second Cardinals receiver to go elsewhere on Thursday after Rondale Moore was traded to the Atlanta Falcons for backup quarterback Desmond Ridder.

Injuries affected Brown's production, but when he was healthy he was effective. Brown had 118 catches for 1,283 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 26 games with the Cardinals, playing hurt for much of last season.
