Area roundup (8/23): New Richmond wins title at Chippewa Falls Invite

Aug. 24—Tigers win at Lake Wissota

New Richmond claimed the team title, and got medalist honors with Lanie Veenendall, at the Chippewa Falls Invite at Lake Wissota Monday.

Veenendall shot a 69, finishing 17 strokes ahead of second-placed Mimi Miller of Hudson. Rounding out the top five were New Richmond's Abbie Ritzer and Regis/Altoona's Elli Anderson (87) and New Richmond's Sydney Nolan (90).

Chippewa Falls' Sydney Trinrud and Regis/Altoona's Lydia Jensen tied with New Richmond's Kailey Stevens for seventh with 94s. Regis/Altoona took third as a team and Chi-Hi finished fourth.

UW-EC partners with Mayo

The UW-Eau Claire athletic department is holding a press conference on Wednesday to introduce Mayo Clinic Health System as its new sports medicine provider. Blugold AD Dan Schumacher and Garry Grant, UW-Eau Claire's head athletic trainer and athletics health care administrator, will speak alongside three representatives from the Mayo Clinic on the partnership via Zoom at 11 a.m.
