De’Anthony Melton out for Sixers vs. Wizards due to back stiffness

With the Philadelphia 76ers returning home on Wednesday to play host to the Washington Wizards, they will be looking to keep a 3-game win streak going while being shorthanded.

Joel Embiid will miss his second straight game due to a non-COVID illness which isn’t too surprising considering his condition, but now, the Sixers will be missing his usual replacement in the starting lineup as well.

De’Anthony Melton, who has started the first two games of the season where Embiid has sat, is out for the matchup with the Wizards due to lower back stiffness on his left side. Matisse Thybulle will start in place of Melton who was starting in place of Embiid.

The Sixers will be looking to extend their win streak to four and sweep this quick home-and-home series with the Wizards. In order to do so, they will need others to step up and replace the production of Embiid and Melton.
