Anthony Davis (Achilles) expected to play Friday vs. Grizzlies

The Los Angeles Lakers will be a stronger unit when they take the floor on Friday night against the Memphis Grizzlies as their star power forward Anthony Davis will rejoin the lineup after a two-game absence. Lakers coach Frank Vogel told reporters prior to Friday night’s game that Davis would return the lineup and that reserve guard Alex Caruso would also be available for the Lakers.

The Lakers have gone to overtime in each of their last three games, all wins, part of the team’s current six-game win streak. The Grizzlies are coming off of a win in their last game but they’ve struggled as of late, losing their last four games before their win earlier this week.

With Davis in the lineup, the Lakers will certainly have more of a presence around the rim defensively but they will also have some added playmaking to help LeBron James as he continues to do the heavy lifting for the Lakers on both ends.
