The American Family Insurance golf tournament is this weekend. If you want to go or watch on TV, here's some key info.
The American Family Insurance Championship tees off Friday in Madison, where Jerry Kelly will seek his third tournament title and host Steve Stricker looks to claim his first.
The event is part of the PGA Tour Champions schedule, a three-day tournament for players who are at least 50 years old.

When is the American Family Insurance Championship being played?
The PGA Tour Champions event begins Friday and finishes Sunday in Madison.
Where is the American Family Insurance Championship being played?
At the par-72, 7,083-yard University Ridge Golf Course. The event will move to the TPC Wisconsin course in 2025.
The TPC Network added the course – which was formerly called Cherokee Country Club – in 2022, and Stricker had a hand in its redesign to better host his professional event.
It will be the first TPC course in Wisconsin. The club is owned by Dennis Tiziani, Stricker’s father-in-law and a Wisconsin Golf Hall of Famer.
How much is the total purse?
It's $2.4 million, with the champion winning $360,000.
Will the event be televised?
Yes, but it'll be on tape delay, according to The Golf Channel and American Family websites. The schedule is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:30-9:30 p.m. Sunday.
How much are tickets to the American Family Insurance Championship?
Adult general admission tickets are $25 per round. Senior admission (ages 50 and older) is $20. Fans 17 and under are free if paired with the purchase of an adult ticket. Active duty, reserve and retired military personnel as well as first responders are admitted for free.
Is Steve Stricker the favorite?
It’s hard not to think Stricker, a Madison resident, is the favorite to win his own tournament for the first time. He was a runner-up (along with Retief Goosen) to Madison native Jerry Kelly in 2019, but Stricker is playing at a historic level heading into the week and leads the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
He has already won four times this season – including the senior circuit’s first two major championships at the Regions Traditions and the Senior PGA Championship. But more than that, he has carded an unbelievable 52 consecutive rounds at par or better, dating to last year’s U.S. Senior Open.
While the Tour Champions play three rounds, the streak does tie Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour-sanctioned record of 52 straight rounds of par or better (2000-01).
How is Jerry Kelly doing?
Kelly, winner of the AmFam in 2019 and 2021, is also on fire. He warmed up for this event by filling in for John Daly during a charity function at Geneva National on Monday and, unofficially, carded 10 birdies and a couple of eagles. Kelly has not won yet this season, but he’s been knocking on the door. He tied with Stricker for second place last week at the Principal Charity Classic. Kelly has three other top-five finishes on tour this season.
Regardless of how he had been playing, one would think Kelly would be primed to contend this week.
Who else is in the field?
Outside of the local favorites, 76 other players will be on course this weekend. Thongchai Jaidee is back to defend his 2022 title while past tournament champions Scott McCarron, Fred Couples and Kirk Triplett are also back.
Justin Leonard will make his tournament debut, along with Stricker’s rival for hottest player on the Tour Champions in Steven Alker. Notah Begay III, K.J. Choi, Brian Cooper, Richard Green, Mark Hensby, Timothy O’Neal and Charlie Wi are also making their first appearances.
Notable names also teeing it up include former world no. 1 players Ernie Els, David Duval, Tom Lehman and Vijay Singh and World Golf Hall of Famers Davis Love III and Colin Montgomerie.
Can I see celebrities at the AmFam event?
On Saturday, a foursome of Andy North, Derek Jeter, Zach Johnson and Michael Phelps will tee off at the 10th hole.
Is there any entertainment?
Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, with Maddie & Tae and Drake White, will perform a concert after the first round Friday. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. at Breese Stevens Field, 917 E. Mifflin St. in Madison. Tickets are $59-$119.
