Alabama gymnastics releases 2023 schedule, first season under Ashley Johnston

Alabama gymnastics has released its 2023 schedule, the first season under new head coach Ashley Johnston.

The season starts Jan. 6, with the Crimson Tide hosting Michigan State before a stretch of seven SEC meets, broken up by a quad meet in Fort Worth, Texas. Alabama will host Boise State to end the season. The Crimson Tide will host Florida, Auburn and LSU in SEC play. They will travel to Arkansas, Kentucky, Georgia and Missouri. The quad meet features defending NCAA Champions Oklahoma, Stanford and Arkansas.

The SEC Championships are on March 18 in Duluth, Georgia. NCAA Regionals will take place on March 30 and April 1 at one of four predetermined sites. The NCAA Championships are April 13 through 15 in Fort Worth.

This season is the first for Johnston, who is taking over for Dana Duckworth. Johnston comes to Tuscaloosa after being an associate head coach at Auburn for the last four seasons. She earned All-American honors ten times while helping Alabama to back-to-back National Championships in 2011 and 2012.
