Al Montoya roughs up Ryan Hartman after third period slash (Video)
Montreal Canadiens backup goaltender Al Montoya roughed up Chicago Blackhawks forward Ryan Hartman late in the third period of their Sunday game.
Hartman skated into the Canadiens zone and fired a shot on Montoya. He then jammed at the rebound and slashed at Montoya’s glove after the puck was covered. Montoya pushed Hartman into the boards and also threw a few punches at the Hawks forward.

Montoya was joined by his Canadiens teammates, who shoved Hartman in defense of their goaltender. Montoya received a two-minute minor for roughing, while Hartman received a two-minute minor for slashing.
This was Montoya’s first game since he allowed 10 goals in a 10-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Nov. 4. Montoya stopped 32 of 35 shots on goal in Montreal’s 3-2 loss to the Blackhawks on Sunday.
