Ady Dwight claims GPAC weekly top attacker award for second time this season

Oct. 3—SIOUX CITY, Iowa. — For the second time this season, Dakota Wesleyan senior volleyball standout Ady Dwight has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference's attacker of the week.

A 6-foot middle blocker from Langford, Dwight earned the honor for her efforts in the last week, which included 22 kills in a .452 hitting effort in a four-set win over Briar Cliff, 20 kills against Hastings in a 3-1 loss and 16 kills in a sweep of Doane in which she hit .471. Overall, she hit .373 for the week.

It is the sixth time in Dwight's career she has won a GPAC weekly award. Dwight is currently first in the GPAC with 377 kills, more than 100 kills ahead of second place, picking up kills at a rate of 4.71 per set. Dwight is second in the NAIA in kills and kills per set while being ninth in attack percentage (.370), second in the GPAC.

DWU, which hosts Dakota State for a non-conference match on Tuesday, resumes conference play with a pair of top-10 matchups on the road this weekend. The Tigers visit No. 10 Midland at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, followed by a 3 p.m. match at No. 1-ranked Concordia on Saturday, Oct. 7 in Seward, Nebraska.
