The Phoenix Suns' Kevin Durant got into a social media feud with an unlikely opponent, the shoe brand Adidas.

A verified Twitter account named 'Nice Kicks' asked if Durant would ever wear Timberwolves player Anthony Edwards' Adidas sneakers. Edwards' new sneakers, the AE1's, have not yet been released but are scheduled to hit the shelves on December 16th.

In response, Durant stated that he would never wear those shoes, assuming he would instead stick with Nike, whom he has signed a lifetime deal with in 2007.

Adidas, with four million followers on Twitter, replied to Durant's comments by saying, "U dusty, bouta to retire soon anyway." The tweet was deleted shortly after, which raised questions about whether it was a mistake made by the shoe brand.

The shoe brand replied with another tweet that read, "meant to send that from the burner account."

Despite the conflict with Adidas and speculation about his retirement, Durant seems to be around for quite some time yet.
