Abilene's Zachery Early wraps up youth bowling career with state titles

An era has ended for Abilene's Zachery Early. He has graduated from the USBC youth leagues to the adult leagues.

Zach left the youth leagues with a bang.

He recently competed in the 2023 Texas State Youth Tournament. Bowling in Division I, Zach finished first in singles with a 762, first in all events with 2,191 and first in scratch with 2074.

Now that he is bowling in the PrimeTime Oil League, I knew he would compete against his father, Nick. The league is a Peterson Point league where each bowler bowls across from the bowler on the other team. The bowler with the highest handicap score wins the point.

The father prevailed in the very first meeting, and I am looking forward to the next time they meet again.

Abilene has a few former youth bowlers bowling in the adult leagues with their relatives. They are Richard (Red) and Hunter Donnelly and Isaac Lopez senior and junior.

Eric Baysinger is not currently bowling. Eric has competed with his father, Shawn, grandfather Denis and uncle Duane.

We hope that the youngsters have picked up good bowling points from us in the last 35 years that adult volunteers have been work with Abilene youth bowlers.
