Aaron Rodgers, Jets' first team offense highlight the latest episode of ‘Hard Knocks’

The penultimate episode of "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets" has been released.

On last week's episode, we had a behind-the-scenes look on the signing of running back Dalvin Cook, a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that wide receiver Garrett Wilson dominated and the story of Brooklyn's own Israel Abanikanda, a fifth round selection from the 2023 NFL Draft who's been turning heads during training camp and the preseason as he fights to make the 53-man roster.

Viewers also got a small glimpse into the life of WR Randall Cobb, Rodgers' long time teammate in Green Bay who decided to sign and reunite with his QB in the Meadowlands.

Now four episodes in, here are my three takeaways from this week's episode:

First team offense struggles mightily in practice

While "Hard Knocks" has relatively shown the good of Rodgers and company, we finally got a glimpse of the ups-and-downs of training camp for the starting 11 on offense. There was plenty of profanity between Rodgers and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett between sacks, penalties and skill players running wrong routes during practice.

After talking to multiple teammates, Rodgers finally settled things down as the crew showed highlights of the offense finally clicking together with multiple deep throws to wide receivers Garrett Wilson and former Packers' teammate Allen Lazard.

With growing pains expected throughout the season, it'll be up to Rodgers to limit those instances in a franchise looking to not only make the playoffs for the first time since 2010 but also be a Super Bowl contender by season's end.

Jerome Kapp: The viral sensation

Florham Park, NJ May 31, 2023 -- Wide receiver, Jerome Kapp during the Jets OTA.

Kapp gained notoriety for freestyling Eminem's 8 mile song during the rookie show on last week's episode. The performance went viral and even the famous artist tweeted about the former Kutztown wide receiver's rapping abilities.

Mathers's tweet currently has 3.4 million views and nearly 26,000 likes from the two-minute clip.

In the preseason finale versus the New York Giants, the Scranton, Pennsylvania native was not targeted in the Jets' 32-24 victory last Saturday night.

Ahead of Tuesday's show, Kapp was released in the Jets' final cutdown to the 53-man roster ahead of the regular season. The 24-year-old was fighting an uphill battle for a roster spot in an already deep wide receiver room. Despite being cut, the team could still bring him back on the practice squad due his familiarity with the playbook.

Aaron Rodgers, offense have solid debut

After getting a loud ovation from the Jets' faithful, Rodgers and the offense shined in their limited action versus the Giants.

Early on in the game, veteran WR Randall Cobb, Rodgers' longtime teammate in Green Bay, was flagged for a blindside hit that wiped out a successful gain on the play.

"What are you doing bro this isn't 2014?" Rodgers jokingly said. "I blacked out. I blacked out." Randall Cobb stated repeatedly in the huddle.

Later that drive, Rodgers and Wilson connected for the duo's first touchdown at MetLife Stadium.

"First of many, first of many," Rodgers told Wilson after celebrating the score.

As the game winded down and the Jets finished business, Rodgers also jokingly kept referring to MetLife Stadium as "JetLife" in the team's win over the G-Men.
