The 70th season of racing at Casino Speedway begins with field of 68 cars

Two Watertown and two Aberdeen drivers kicked off the 70th season of racing at Casino Speedway with feature victories on Mother's Day.

A field of 68 cars were on hand for opening night on Sunday with racing in all six regular classes at the local track.

Mike Nichols of Watertown topped the field in the 20-lap Midwest modifeds feature and Tony Croninger of Watertown took the checkered flag in the 18-lap Gen X late models feature.

Aberdeen winners include Chad Becker, who took the 25-lap late model feature, and Mike Stearns, who won the 20-lap modified main.

Jayden Bogh of Huron (street stocks, 20 laps) and Adam VanDerostyne of Canby, Minn. (hornets, 12 laps) also added feature wins.

All six classes of racing is scheduled for next Sunday's program at 6:30 p.m.
