5-star WR Micah Hudson commits to Texas Tech football

Joey McGuire and staff added to an already impressive 2024 recruiting class.

Micah Hudson, a 5-star prospect by most scouting services, announced his commitment to the Texas Tech football team Monday. He posted a graphic on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

The 6-foot receiver was being recruited by almost every major Power 5 school. Hudson chose the Red Raiders over offers from Texas, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M and many others.

During his junior season at Lake Belton, Hudson caught 65 passes for 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns. He added 32 carries for 243 yards and two scores on the ground.

Through three games at Lake Belton this season, Hudson has 17 catches for 317 yards and 3 TDs.

Hudson becomes the 19th commitment for the Red Raiders in the 2024 recruiting class. He is also the first five-star recruit for Tech's in 247Sports' history, which spans about 20 years.

Every player that has committed to Tech comes from Texas high schools. Other commitments include: Cheta Ofili, edge rusher, Sachse; Will Hammond, quarterback, Hutton; Ellis Davis, OT, Prosper; Peyton Morgan, safety, Pflugerville Weiss; Edward Smith, defensive lineman, Pearland Dawson; Tyson Turner, athlete, Bryan; J'koby Williams, athlete, Beckville; Oliver Miles, running back, El Camp; Malik Esquerra, safety, Killeen Shoemaker; Isaiah Collins, corner back, Huntsville; Charles Anderson, defensive line, Pearland Dawson; Ashton Hampton, safety, Pearland; Holton Hendrix, offensive tackle, Lubbock-Cooper; Jacob Ponton, offensive tackle, Dripping Springs; Trey Jackson, receiver, South Oak Cliff; Chandlin Myers, athlete, Hawley; Lorenzo Johnson, receiver, Madisonville; Kasen Long, offensive tackle, Shallowater.
