5 Players Who Will Emerge as National Stars in 2020-21
College Basketball expert Jon Rothstein gives you five names that you will be hearing a lot more of during the next college basketball season as they are primed to become national stars.

JON ROTHSTEIN: Hey, this is Jon Rothstein with Yahoo Sports, highlighting right now five players who will become stars during the 2020-21 college basketball season. We start in Storrs, Connecticut with UConn's James Bouknight. The Huskies' first season back in the Big East Conference will feature one of the best guards in the league, and maybe the country, next season. Bouknight flourished during, the last six weeks of the regular season this past season and should be spectacular for Dan Hurley as he leads the Huskies back into the Big East Conference after a stint in the American.
Meanwhile, St. Louis' Jordan Goodwin is another player that should become a national name in 2021. Goodwin has already played in the NCAA Tournament and averaged a double-double last season at the guard position.
Creighton's Marcus Zegarowski will form one of college basketball's top perimeters, along with Mitch Ballock and Ty-Shon Alexander. Zegarowski had the potential to be the type of player that could have evolved into a star during the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Tournament wasn't played. Look for Zegarowski to be a name associated with the top playmakers in the sport next season.
Other names that should jump to the forefront in 2021-- Louisville's David Johnson. The big, burly guard has a great feel, an unbelievable touch, and also the ability to be a dynamic playmaker and distributor for Chris Mack. When Johnson was healthy this past year for Louisville, the Cardinals were a different basketball team. He'll make a major jump next season.
And lastly, we're going to go with UNLV's Bryce Hamilton. Hamilton made a major jump from his freshman to sophomore season and should make a comparable jump from his sophomore to junior season-- maybe not so much in terms of production, but in terms of the people nationally that know about his skills. I'm saying right now that this will be the Mountain West conference's leading scorer in 2021. Those are five players that will become national stars during the 2021 college basketball season.
