Here are 3 teams, 10 players from Upstate to watch in high school girls lacrosse playoffs

Here are three Upstate teams and 10 players to watch as the South Carolina high school girls lacrosse postseason begins.

Teams to watch

Riverside

The Warriors are seeded No. 1 in the Upper State for Class AAAA and for good reason, Riverside (14-2) is the state’s fourth-best offensive team (14.2 points per game) and the fourth-best defensive team (6.3). The Warriors lost early this season to Spartanburg and late to J.L. Mann but won 13 straight in between.

Spartanburg

The Vikings are having one of the best seasons in program history and it could get much better. Spartanburg (14-1) is a No. 1 seed in the Class AAAAA Upper State. The Vikings, on a seven-game winning streak, have held opponents to two goals or fewer seven times this season. Last year, they lost in the first round to Mann.

T.L. Hanna

The Yellow Jackets, who had their first winning season last year, earned a No. 1 seed with a home game 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against Byrnes. The Jackets (12-1) had a late-season stumble against Byrnes but had already wrapped up the district’s top spot. Hanna went 11-5 last season only to run into eventual Class AAAAA state semifinalist Fort Mill in the first round.

Little ranks second in the state with 52 assists, but she can score, too. She’s had 62 goals in the past two seasons.

Dylan Meagher, J.L. Mann

The sophomore goalie leads the state in save percentage (.685) and is one of the big reasons J.L. Mann (6-9) still has a chance to reach a second consecutive state final.
