2024 NFL draft: Updated Dallas Cowboys draft needs

This season the Dallas Cowboys have been one of the best teams in the NFC and have to be taken seriously as a Super Bowl contender. Typically when a team is playing this well there aren’t glaring roster needs. This is the case for the Cowboys so as we looked through the roster and projected their 2024 NFL draft needs they are mostly interchangeable parts at multiple positions and Dallas could be in a great spot to consider the best player available with multiple picks.

1 - Defensive back

The Cowboys could target a player who they can move around the secondary and work inside and outside and even work as a free safety.

2 - Running back

This is a great draft for the Cowboys to find a back who can be part of a committee approach with multiple players who have unique skill sets.

3 - Offensive tackle

Offensive tackle lands here as a player who can eventually step in and replace Tyron Smith. We list offensive tackle at three but don’t be shocked if the Cowboys select one much sooner.

4 - Inside linebacker

The Cowboys need size and physicality in the middle of the defense and this is a great draft to land a thumper who isn’t afraid to hit the hole and stuff the run.

5 - Interior offensive line

Like offensive tackle, it isn’t about finding a starter for 2024 but Dallas needs to build for the future and get a developmental player who can move between center and guard.
