2024 4-star QB and Aggie commit Anthony Maddox continues to rise in the recruiting rankings

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class has secured two verbal quarterback commitments, as three-star live-armed Massachusetts native Miles O’Neill and four-star multifaceted signal caller and Mississippi native Anthony Maddox present different skill sets that look seamless fits in new Aggies OC Bobby Petrino’s offensive scheme.

While both QBs check each box in terms of accuracy, ball placement, and the ability to make plays out of structure, Anthony Maddox’s ability to switch from full-time pocket passer to beating defenses with his legs on option plays when needed makes him by far one Texas A&M’s most intriguing prospects in the 2024 cycle. ESPN’s newest 2024 quarterback rankings have begun to take notice.

According to ESPN, Maddox, who received an 82 grade and a four-star designation from the site, is currently positioned as the 10-ranked pocket passer and the 210th-ranked player in the cycle, which is nothing to sneeze at in one of the most talented QB classes in several years. After his MVP performance at the local Mississippi “Under the Lights” quarterback contest, Maddox has one more season left at Oak Grove High School to continue adding to his game before he finally makes College Station his new home in 2024.
