2023 NFL draft: Updated 49ers picks after Christian McCaffrey trade
The 49ers mortgaged a ton of future draft capital when they traded up to No. 3 in the 2021 draft. Their acquisition of running back Christian McCaffrey was another bet that leaves them relatively barren in the draft compensation department in the 2023 draft.
They were already without a first-round pick going into the season from the Lance trade. Now their four-pick haul that landed them McCaffrey leaves them without a pick until the compensatory portion of the third round.

The 49ers acquired a seventh-round pick from Denver in the deal that sent linebacker Jonas Griffith to the Broncos ahead of last season.

The first-round pick to Miami is the final pick to convey from the pre-draft trade up to No. 3 in March of 2021. The sixth-round pick went to Houston when the 49ers acquired Charles Omenihu at last year’s trade deadline.
