2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate Walkaround

The 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate takes the highest trim level one step further. It features nearly every feature available on the regular Denali as standard. It also picks up unique styling features. The badging and grille feature a dark-tinted chrome, and it has 22-inch wheels, all of which are exclusive to the trim. The interior has real wood, leather and aluminum, and it's accented with topographical maps of Mount Denali. There are a few features and choices that are still available. The standard 6.2-liter V8 can be swapped for a turbodiesel 3.0-liter I6. The trim can be added to either the regular Yukon or the extended Yukon XL. Other options include the towing package, Super Cruise with towing and automatic lane changing, and a rear-seat entertainment system. The truck goes on sale this fall, and pricing is coming this summer.

JOEL STOCKSDALE: Hi, I'm Joel Stocksdale. And behind me is the new GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate. This is a new trim level above Denali that really includes just about everything along with some unique design touches. Up front, it's distinguished by a grille and badge that are in what GM calls Vader Chrome. It's a dark-tinted chrome. It's the same grille that you'll find on a regular Denali but with an exclusive dark finish.

And this, including the badge, are not available on any other GMC, even as an accessory. So only the Denali Ultimates will have that. The Ultimate also features 22-inch alloy wheels that feature chrome-trim machined sections as well as painted sections. The dark trim continues on the back. And along the sides it still keeps brighter chrome trim and bright aluminum-accented roof rails.

Now, perhaps the real attraction of the Denali Ultimate is on the inside of the vehicle, where it gets a unique interior. The Denali ultimate interior is designed to be very similar to the Sierra Denali Ultimate as well. It features real leather in a very dark brown and dark gray finish with unique stitching along the seat panels. And the leather features an embossed topography map of Mount Denali, its namesake.

It has metal badges. It's got metal speaker grills. And on the dash, it features real leather and aluminum trim, both of which are unique finishes for Denali Ultimate. And the dash panel, in particular, also features the topography of Mount Denali.

The Denali Ultimate also comes with basically every single feature available for the GMC Yukon. The only options are super cruise, rear-seat entertainment, the towing package, and you have a choice of two engines. You can either have the 6.2-liter V8 or the turbo-diesel 3-liter Duramax engine.

The standard engine is a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8, and it makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. And that's the engine that's in here. It's coupled to a 10-speed automatic, and on Denali ultimate, only comes with four-wheel drive. Available as an option is the 3-liter diesel turbocharged straight six. That makes 277 horsepower and 460 pound feet of torque. It also comes with a 10-speed automatic and four-wheel drive.

The Denali ultimate trim does not have pricing yet. That will be coming this summer. Expect it to be the range-topper and will be more expensive than Denali or any of the other trim levels on the Yukon line. And it will be available in both the regular Yukon and the longer Yukon XL.
