2023 football preview: Lebanon leaning on returning players to get back in the win column

The start of the 2023 Lebanon County football season is right around the corner. Visit LDNews.com all this week for coverage. Here is one in a series of previews for all county football teams:

Lebanon Cedars

Having last won a game in early October of 2020, the Cedars are itching to get back in the win column after consecutive 0-10 seasons. With a good core back, the Cedars have a good core returning, including most of their linemen on both sides of the ball.

The biggest question mark is at quarterback where Brandyn Castro will battle with newcomer Kareem Stoner for snaps at the position. The positive is that there is a wealth of experience at wide receiver that should help whoever is named the starter.

The Cedars will see Thursday night lights twice this season as they will battle Garden Spot at home in Week 2 on Thursday, Aug. 31 and travel to rival Cedar Crest for the Cedar Bowl on Thursday, Oct. 26.

The Lebanon Cedars run through drills during practice on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023.
