2022 Genesis Scottish Open odds, field notes, best bets and picks
A week before the final major of 2022, a major championship-type field has traveled to the Renaissance Club for the Genesis Scottish Open.
Fourteen of the world’s top 15 players are expected to tee it up Thursday, with the lone missing name being No. 3 Rory McIlroy (who played in this week’s JP McManus Pro-Am at Adare Manor).
Last year’s champion Min Woo Lee, who made the Scottish Open his second DP World Tour win, tied for 27th in his last PGA Tour start (U.S. Open at The Country Club).
This event is co-sanctioned by the Tour and DP World Tour, so LIV Golf members have been denied entry into the event — for most, anyway. Ian Poulter, Adrian Otaegui, and Justin Harding had their DP World Tour suspensions temporarily stayed Monday, which could allow them to play in the event.

Thomas didn’t play in the 2020 edition of the Scottish Open, but in 2021 and 2019 finished T-8 and T-9, respectively.
JT has three top 5s in his last five PGA Tour starts, including his win at the PGA Championship.

Tommy Fleetwood

Fleetwood has made the weekend in four of his last five worldwide starts. During that stretch, he finished T-5 at the PGA Championship and T-10 at the European Open.
The Englishman lost to Aaron Rai in a playoff two years ago at the Renaissance and tied for 26th last season.

Robert MacIntyre

MacIntyre is coming off a T-13 performance at last week’s Irish Open and has finished T-18 and T-14 in the last two playings of the Scottish Open.

Herbert has one top 40 in his last four PGA Tour starts (T-13, PGA Championship), but has made the weekend in three of those events.
Last week at the Irish Open, the Australian tied for ninth.
He has loved the Renaissance the last few seasons, tying for fourth in 2021 and 2020.
