2-time Patriots Super Bowl champion Danny Amendola retires from NFL
Danny Amendola is calling it quits.
The veteran NFL wide receiver who won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday that he's retiring from football.
"It was better than I could have ever imagined," Amendola told Schefter of his NFL career.

Amendola, 36, played 13 NFL seasons, most recently in limited action with the Houston Texans in 2021. He spent his first four seasons with the St. Louis Rams before a five-season stint with the Patriots that defined his career.
He was a top target for Tom Brady as a slot receiver for much of his time in New England and helped the Patriots to Super Bowl victories over the Seattle Seahawks (2014 season) and Atlanta Falcons (2016 season). He caught a touchdown in each Super Bowl while tallying five catches for 48 yards against Seattle and eight catches for 78 yards against Atlanta.
Amendola also played for the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions before his final season in Houston. He finishes his career with 617 catches for 6,212 yards and 24 touchdowns during the regular season.
Per Schefter, Amendola intends to pursue a potential career in broadcasting and is having initial conversations with multiple networks.
