12 Richland County players named All-Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference for 2024 baseball season

MANSFIELD — A total of 12 Richland County baseball players were named to the All-Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference teams.

Clear Fork's Luke Schlosser and Jay Jackson joined Ontario's Carter Walters and Carter Weaver and Shelby's Nic Eyster as first team selections.

DISTRICT 9 AWARDS: Schlosser named Division II District 9 Player of the Year, 17 from Richland County honored

Schlosser, the Division II District 9 Player of the Year, hit .354 with 29 hits, seven doubles, three triples, a home run, 19 RBIs, 31 runs scored and 21 walks as he led the Clear Fork Colts to a 23-4 record.

He was also dominant on the mound going 8-1 with a 1.17 earned run average piling up 92 strikeouts in 54 innings of work. Jackson hit a team-high .478 with 43 hits, five doubles, five triples, three home runs, 34 RBIs and 30 runs scored.

Weaver hit .408 with 31 hits, six doubles, three triples, a home run, 25 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He also went 3-1 on the mound this season with a 1.75 ERA piling up 42 strikeouts in 32 innings of work. Walters hit .379 with 22 hits, two doubles, five triples, 17 RBIs and 21 runs scored while also posting a 5-0 record on the mound with a 2.58 ERA with 41 strikeouts in 38 innings.

Eyster hit .338 with 25 hits, four doubles, a triple, nine RBIs, 26 runs scored and 16 walks. He went 8-3 on the mound with a 3.30 ERA piling up 42 strikeouts in 59 ⅓ innings of work.

Clear Fork's Nate Lind, Garret Hotz and Chandler Ball joined Shelby's Alex Bruskotter as second team selections while Clear Fork's Kasey Swank, Ontario's James Mahon and Shelby's Maverick Noel were honorable mentions.
