11 Tennessee Titans, including 10 starters, absent from practice Thursday

Eleven Tennessee Titans players were absent from practice Thursday, all of whom have started at least one game this season.

Rookie quarterback Will Levis, who is dealing with a left ankle sprain, headlines the group. He missed practice for the second straight day with the injury, which he suffered in Sunday's overtime loss to the Houston Texans. He and his coaches haven't made any guarantees about whether he'll be active for the Titans' game against the Seattle Seahawks (7-7) at Nissan Stadium on Sunday (noon, CBS), but he has said he thinks he'd be mentally comfortable playing even if he doesn't practice this week.

With Levis injured, veteran Ryan Tannehill has been taking the first-team reps, with Malik Willis as the backup.

What the coaches said about Will Levis' injury

When asked about Levis' status, offensive coordinator Tim Kelly echoed what Levis and coach Mike Vrabel had said Wednesday.

"It's the same," Kelly said. "It's still making sure that everybody in that room is getting every bit of information we're going to need to go out there and be successful if called upon on Sunday. (Levis) is in there for every meeting, every install. All the conversations, he's included in. Having conversations with him, with Ryan. Not much has changed."

The Tennessee Titans' other injuries

Elsewhere on offense, the Titans had a running back, three wide receivers, a tight end and two offensive linemen either absent or limited Thursday. Running back Derrick Henry, receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Kyle Philips and guard Daniel Brunskill were limited, which has been a common occurrence for Henry, Hopkins and Brunskill on Thursdays this season.

Center Aaron Brewer and receiver Treylon Burks are among the other most prominent offensive players who were absent Thursday.

Defensively, the biggest depth issues are presenting themselves in the secondary. Cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting and safeties K'Von Wallace and Amani Hooker all missed their second straight practice. With cornerback Kristian Fulton already on injured reserve, the defensive backfield is limited to cornerbacks Roger McCreary, Tre Avery and Eric Garror, safeties Elijah Molden, Terrell Edmunds and Mike Brown, and primary special teams contributor Anthony Kendall.
