Baseball Hall of Fame 2013 ballot breakdown

Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Kaduk and Dave Brown of Big League Stew look at the 22 worthy players from the National Baseball Hall of Fame's 2013 class and assess their chances of being elected on this ballot. The inductees will be announced Wednesday.

Alan Trammell

Sort of the anti-Morris, in that he was regarded as one of the best players at his position when he played (Cal Ripken and Ozzie Smith overshadowed him, but Trammell was respected), and yet there’s no nostalgia left over for him once the HOF voting commences. Trammell's percentage jumped to 36.8 last year, putting him closer to contention, and he’ll probably get about the same this season. He might run out of time with the BBWAA, but... more

He might run out of time with the BBWAA, but there’s always a veterans committee. Trammell compares highly favorably with other shortstops in the Hall of Fame. He's about as good as Derek Jeter, who won’t have to wait 10 seconds to get into Cooperstown when the time comes.
