The Tampa Bay Buccaners have had an up-and-down season, and they currently sit at 5-5. They’re on pace to be much better than the 6-10 squad we saw a year ago, but this team should want more. A lot more.

Perhaps they don’t catch the NFC South-leading Atlanta Falcons nor the 6-3-1 Washington Redskins who currently occupy the second wild card spot in the NFC. But whatever happens this season, the Buccaneers should be happy of what they’ve accomplished. But in the NFL, you need to want it more than anybody else.

And on Sunday, the Buccaneers could put the NFL on notice if they find a way to stop the powerhouse Seattle Seahawks.

The Bucs have already beaten the Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs on the road, but imagine what a home win would mean against the Seahawks. That would be three powerhouses knocked off by a team that hasn’t finished rebuilding and has been without Doug Martin, Lavonte David and Gerald McCoy for much of the season.

Even a win against Seattle may not be enough to eventually lead to a playoff berth, but it certainly would provide confidence and a look at where this team will be in the future. This Bucs team started out 1-3, and now they’re back on the winning track.

A win against the Seahawks cements the Bucs as a legitimate team on the rise. Now, they just have to go out there and beat MVP candidate Russell Wilson and the Legion of Boom.

Easier said than done, but the Bucs know it.
