Welker doesn't miss playing for Belichick

It wasn't exactly a secret in NFL circles that veteran wide receiver Wes Welker wasn't always thrilled with the autocratic ways of New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

With Welker now playing for the Denver Broncos, he's free to express himself and disclosed that Belichick wasn't easy to play for.

“It was just kind of hard, one of those deals where you have to endure him, put up with him," Welker told Sports Illustrated. "But he does it to everybody, it’s the way he is.”

Belichick briefly benched Welker for a playoff game against the New York Jets after Welker disregarded his orders to not create headlines and made fun of Jets coach Rex Ryan.

Is Belichick still on Welker's mind? Yep, pretty much so.

“When I’m answering questions from the Denver media, I’m not worried about what the Broncos’ people are going to think,” Welker said. “I’m worried about what Belichick will think.”
