Vikings' Sharrif Floyd has minor knee surgery

Minnesota Vikings first-round defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd underwent a minor surgical procedure on his left knee.

Drafted 23rd overall out of the University of Florida, Floyd had a magnetic resonance imaging exam and no structural damage was revealed.

Floyd is expected to miss the remainder of the preseason and return in time for the regular season opener, coach Leslie Frazier told reporters.

"I don't think he'll practice until next week," Frazier said. "It's nothing major. He shouldn't miss any time, as far as our regular season is concerned."

Meanwhile, the Vikings waived-injured cornerback Jacoby Lacey (arthroscopic knee surgery).
