UFC on Fox 8 Medical Suspensions: Several Fighters Get Six Months; Two Indefinite

The Washington State Department of Licensing on Tuesday released the UFC on Fox 8: Johnson vs. Moraga medical suspensions to MMAWeekly.com.

Every fighter on the card received at least a mandatory seven-day suspension, while seven fighters – John Moraga, Bobby Voelker, Michael Chiesa, Danny Castillo, Mac Danzig, Ed Herman, and Aaron Riley – could be sidelined for as long as six months.

Trevor Smitha and Germaine de Randamie each received an indefinite suspension, meaning they must get medical clearance before they are allowed to fight again.

UFC on Fox 8 took place Saturday, July 27, at the KeyArena in Seattle. Demetrious Johnson defended his UFC flyweight championship from John Moraga in the night’s main event.

UFC on Fox 8 Medical Suspensions:

John Moraga: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a doctor, and faces a minimum 30-day suspension.

Bobby Voelker: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a doctor, and faces a minimum 60-day suspension.

Jessica Andrade: Suspended for 45 days unless cleared by a doctor, and faces a minimum 30-day suspension.

Michael Chiesa: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a doctor, and faces a minimum 30-day suspension.

Danny Castillo: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a doctor.

Mac Danzig: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a doctor, and faces a minimum 60-day suspension.

Trevor Smith: Suspended indefinitely unless cleared by a doctor, and faces a minimum 42-day suspension.

Ed Herman: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a doctor.

Germaine de Randamie: Suspended indefinitely unless cleared by a doctor, and faces a minimum 30-day suspension.

Justin Salas: Suspended for 45 days.

Aaron Riley: Suspended for 180 days unless cleared by a doctor, and faces a minimum 45-day suspension. Riley announced his retirement following the fight.
