UFC Fight Night San Antonio Weigh-in Results: Swanson and Stevens Spot-On; Gastelum Over

UFC Fight Night San Antonio Fighter Bonuses: Swanson and Stephens Score Fight of the Night

Hours after debuting in New Zealand, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will make another debut, this one in San Antonio, Texas, with UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Stephens.

With the promise of a title shot on the line, top featherweights Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens have five rounds in the nights main event to prove who deserves a shot at UFC champion Jose Aldo. Odds are, with their explosive styles, they won't need all five rounds.

They did, however, have to first step on the scale in San Antonio to make their headlining bout official, as did the other fighters on the card.

Neither Swanson nor Stephens had issues making weight. Both hit the mark spot-on at 145 pounds apiece.

Co-main event fighter Kelvin Gastelum, however, was two pounds over the 171-pound limit for his welterweight bout with Nicholas Musoke. He was given two hours to shed the extra pounds. If unable to make the wight, the fight would likely continue, with Gastelum docked 20-percent of his fight purse.

Gastelum also had trouble making weight in his last fight at UFC 171, but eventually did so on his final attempt.
