UFC Confirms Cris Cyborg Brasilia Headliner, Silva vs. Thatch, and Several Other Bouts

UFC officials confirmed on Thursday that a bout between Invicta FC champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino and UFC newcomer Lina Lansberg would headline UFC Fight Night 95 on Sept. 24 in Brasilia, Brazil. They also confirmed that former bantamweight champion Renan Barao would again fight at featherweight, facing Phillipe Nover.

In addition to confirming Cyborg vs. Lansberg and Barao vs. Nover, UFC officials also announced several other bouts for the UFC Fight Night 95 fight card.

Chief among the other bouts announced is a high profile welterweight fight between Erick Silva and Brandon Thatch. Both were once considered the next big thing in the 170[pound division, but have begun to backslide. Silva enters the fight coming off of back-to-back losses to Neil Magny and Nordine Taleb, while Thatch has dropped consecutive fights to Benson Henderson, Gunnar Nelson, and Siyar Bahadurzada.

Other bouts announced for UFC Fight Night 95 include Michinori Tanaka vs. Rani Yahya, Mike De La Torre vs. Renato Moicano, Paul Felder vs. Francisco Trinaldo, Alan Patrick vs. Stevie Ray, Jussier Formiga vs. Dustin Ortiz, Gilbert Burns vs. Michel Prazeres, and Gegor Gillespie vs. Joaquim Silva.
