UFC 165 Medical Suspensions: Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson Lead 60-Day Suspensions

Alexander Gustafsson ‘Feels Sorry' for Jon Jones, Hopes He Returns

The UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson medical suspension list featured several fighters that may be out of action for 30 to 60 days, chief among them are main eventers Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.

Jones and Gustafsson fought for five rounds, Jones winning a unanimous decision victory. When all was said and done, however, it was hard to tell who was worse for the wear as both were taken to the hospital to have their injuries checked.

Jones and Gustafsson each received a 60-day medical suspension, according to the Ontario Office of the Athletics Commissioner (OAC).

UFC 165 took place on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Every fighter on the card received at least a minimum 14-day precautionary suspension.

Jon Jones was suspended for a minimum of 60 days and needs to get a CT scan or MRI, and an x-ray prior to his return.

Alexander Gustafsson was suspended for a minimum of 60 days and needs to get a CT scan or MRI prior to his return.

Eddie Wineland was suspended for a minimum of 60 days and needs to get a CT scan or MRI prior to his return.

Matthew Mitrione was suspended for a minimum of 30 days and needs to get a CT scan or MRI prior to his return.

Mike Ricci was suspended for a minimum of 30 days and needs to get an x-ray prior to his return.

Chris Clements was suspended for a minimum of 60 days and needs to get a CT scan or MRI prior to his return.

Renee Forte was suspended for a minimum of 60 days and needs to get a CT scan or MRI prior to his return.

Nandor Guelmino was suspended for a minimum of 60 days and needs to get a CT scan or MRI prior to his return.
