Two Clemson players suspended

Third-ranked Clemson suspended its second leading receiver and a defensive back for Saturday's ACC home game against Boston College, the school announced Friday night.

Germone Hopper, who has 16 catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns, and safety Ronald Geohaghan were punished for poor behavior, according to coach Dabo Swinney. He said the two players violated team rules but did not provide additional information.

There also was no indication whether the suspension were for one game or more.

Hopper, a redshirt freshman, has stepped up to help offset the loss of receiver Charone Peake, who was lost for the season when he tore a knee ligament in practice on Sept. 10.

Geohaghan, a freshman, has one tackle in three games this season for the undefeated Tigers.
