Texans' Watt wins Defensive Player of the Year

NEW ORLEANS - Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt was named the 2012 Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

The second-year player led the league with 20.5 sacks despite primarily rushing from the tackle position. Watt also racked up an NFL-record 16 tipped passes.

Watt has 26 sacks, 20 passes defensed and four forced fumbles through his first two seasons.
