Texans to have lots of competition at QB

The Houston Texans will have four quarterbacks vying for a starting job.

In the fourth round, Houston selected Pittsburgh quarterback Tom Savage with the 135th overall pick. Some experts had Savage as a potential second round, so grabbing him int he fourth round would be seen as a great value pick.

The Texans brought in Ryan Fitzpatrick this offseason already and still have T.J. Yates and Case Keenum on the roster. Yates earned playing experience in 2012 when Matt Schaub went down to injury and Keenum was inserted into the starting lineup at times a year ago.

Fitzpatrick has had a lengthy ride in the NFL, highlighted by his 2011 season, when he threw 3,832 yards and 24 touchdowns.
