Texans LB Reed suffers groin injury

Houston Texans linebacker Brooks Reed was knocked out of Thursday's game against Detroit with a groin injury in the first quarter.

Reed, who has 2 1/2 sacks this season, was taken to the locker room on a cart and didn't return to the game.

The second-year pro joined teammates Tim Dobbins and Johnathan Joseph on the sideline. Dobbins, a linebacker, was inactive because of a shoulder injury and Joseph, a cornerback, had a strained hamstring.
