Texans' Johnson sidelined with groin strain

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson suffered a groin injury Sunday and was pulled from practice.

Coach Gary Kubiak said Johnson's status is day to day after Johnson sustained the injury early in practice.

"I don't know," Johnson told the Houston Chronicle after leaving the field on a golf cart. "I am going to get it checked out."

Johnson will be held out of "a few practices" for precautionary reasons, the NFL Network reported, based on a source.

Johnson, one of the game's elite receivers, missed nine games last season with two hamstring injuries. He missed the team's mini-camps and OTAs while he was recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee surgery.
