Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson spark Warriors past Timberwolves

Stephen Curry scored 25 and the Golden State Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 110-97. This is the seventh win for Golden State (24-5) in its last 10 games.

Curry finished 9-18 (4-9 from three-point range) in a good performance. Other top contributors for Golden State included Klay Thompson with 21 points and five rebounds, David Lee with 10 points and seven rebounds, and Marreese Speights with 10 points and six rebounds. On 7-11 shooting from the field and 2-4 from the free throw line, Thaddeus Young put up 17 points for Minnesota in the loss. Zach LaVine contributed 12 points and 14 assists.

As expected, the Timberwolves offense did not have its best game, struggling to score against the top-notch Warriors defense that ranks first in the league with a defensive efficiency of 97.2. They registered just .923 points per possession in this game, and rank 29th in the NBA with an offensive efficiency of 98.5 on the season.

Minnesota (5-24) has now lost eight straight.

Coming up, the Warriors battle the Philadelphia 76ers, who are 4-25 on the season. The Timberwolves match up against the Utah Jazz, currently sitting at 10-20 this year.
